Seguramente gozaba de la misma libertad que gozaban su amigo Nicolás Kasansew o Gómez Fuentes. Tal vez, yendo un poco más atrás, podamos encontrar la explicación. Ya en 1978, Vázquez, como secretario de redacción de la revista Somos -que por aquel entonces era el órgano oficial del Ejército Argentino- mostraba en la tapa, bajo el título “Un país que cambió”, al dictador Videla gritando eufórico los triunfos del mundial de fútbol.
